I had to do a special project for a Friday the 13th themed craft show, so I chose to draw an Asian black bear, aka a moon bear to highlight their plight. Many people in Asia believe the superstition that the bile from these bears have healing properties for everything from hangovers to dental hygiene. There is no scientific evidence to back this up. The bears are frequently "farmed," meaning they're kept in cages and their bile is extracted over and over again. They frequently die from stress and infections. As a result, they've become an endangered species.

I originally made this with ink, watercolor, and iridescent paint. I then scanned and printed it in my home studio using all archival pigment inks on acid-free matte photo paper, with a white border to make framing easy. Pigment inks and paper are rated to last at least 90 years.

Available as an 8x10 or 11x14 (both standard sizes for framing!)

This print is in portrait format.

Each piece comes signed and will be shipped flat in a rigid mailer via First Class USPS.
