------------------------
Coyotes are a species of canine that live in North America and are closely related to wolves, though are smaller, weighing 15-25 lbs. Because they are very versatile and adaptable, they are widely distributed and their populations are abundant. They are not picky eaters and their opportunistic nature means that they will eat whatever is available. Coyotes are monogamous and both males and females help to take care of their pups. They are very good swimmers and have excellent senses of vision and smell. Known as the most vocal animal species, coyotes make noise at night to communicate with members of their family or pack and to keep track of them.
